Information is an important asset of any organization.
The Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat issued the Directive on Recordkeeping in 2009 to add rigour to federal departmental recordkeeping programs and to increase the consistency of information management (IM) practices across government. Other government-wide IM priorities, such as the Email Transformation Initiative and GCDocs, are fundamentally changing how employees deal with their documents and other information resources.
Sheil Communications developed and implemented a communications approach to guide information management awareness and engagement activities over the 2015-16 fiscal year. This included revising and consolidating IM-related policies, developing a brand and messaging, creating tips and guidelines, and preparing a schedule of weekly activities to consistently raise awareness of the importance of information management.
